When he's not busy fact-checking science fiction movies and being one of the world's most renowned astrophysicists, Neil deGrasse Tyson makes time to dole out an astronomy lesson or two at Brooklyn's 99th police precinct.

Mashable has learned exclusively that Tyson will be guest-starring on Fox's Brooklyn Nine-Nine as himself, enlisted by Sergeant Jeffords (Terry Crews) to help Gina (Chelsea Peretti) study for her astronomy exam.

How exactly Tyson is acquainted with the 99's lovable Sergeant remains to be seen, but at least there's little doubt that Gina will ace her exam now.

Though it certainly won't mark the first time Tyson's guested on TV, this time, he won't be showing up in animated form (à la Gravity Falls).

The episode will air on Fox on Dec. 6.
