Nest will announce a new Internet-connected security camera at its press event on June 17 in San Francisco, according to a new report.

One week ahead of the event, Android blog Droid Life obtained images of what it says is the next-generation Dropcam.

Nest, a Google-owned company, acquired Dropcam for $555 million last year.

The new Nest Cam, which will either replace the $199 Dropcam Pro or co-exist alongside it, will shed the Dropcam branding in favor of Nest -- Google's preferred branding for its smart home strategy.

Droid Life reported that the Nest Cam will be rocking a slimmer design, possibly full 1080p video streaming and recording, and a simpler setup experience using Bluetooth and QR codes.

A redesigned Nest app with a fresh user interface is also reportedly in the works; it will let users connect and control all of their Nest products (Nest Thermostat and Nest Protect) and Dropcams/Nest Cams in one centralized place.

Mashable will be reporting live from Nest's event on June 17 at 10 a.m. PT. Stay tuned.
