Nest sent out invitations on Thursday for a press conference in San Francisco on June 17.

Nest, which Google bought in January 2014 for an eye-watering $3.2 Billion , is one of the biggest players in the smart-home field. Right now they only offer two products: a thermostat and a smoke/carbon monoxide detector, as well as integrations with third-party products under their "Works with Nest" program.

The invitation doesn't reveal much; it just says blandly "Please join us for a Nest press conference," which begins at 10 a.m. Pacific Time. Perhaps they will launch a new product, or give more insight into the company's place within Google going forward. Google recently announced Project Brillo, its own Internet of Things platform, at its Google I/O developer conference. Nest will be a part of Brillo, which will be baked into the upcoming version of Android, just called Android M for now.

Mashable will be live on the scene from the Nest event on June 17, reporting what's next for its products and the smart home.
