Netflix is about to crank things up to 11.

The streaming giant has acquired Mascots, a new original film from Christopher Guest. The film will revolve around the 8th World Mascot Association Championships, in which competitors vie to be crowned the best mascot in the world.

The Emmy-winning Guest is known for his comic mockumentary films, starring in This Is Spinal Tap, Waiting for Guffman and Best in Show. He also wrote all three films, and directed the latter two.

His lead role as rocker Nigel Tufnel in This Is Spinal Tap is particularly iconic, thanks to the scene featuring amps that "go to 11."

Mascots -- not to be confused with Hulu's Behind the Mask, an original docuseries about sports mascots in high school, college, the minor leagues and the major leagues -- will premiere in 2016.
