It's out of one deadly duel and into another for Pedro Pascal, who until last Sunday played Oberyn Martell in Game of Thrones.
Netflix has cast the erstwhile Red Viper in the upcoming Narcos drama about Columbian drug lord Pablo Escobar, the streaming service confirmed to Mashable on Friday. The original series will debut in 2015, with Wagner Moura as Escobar.
Pascal will portray Javier Pena, a Drug Enforcement Administration agent tasked with capturing and killing trafficking maestro Escobar, the Netflix spokesperson said.

Directed by Jose Padilha (Robocop), the 10-episode series will recreate the Medellin Cartel and the gruesome conflicts and political strife surrounding the violent trafficking.
"Our idea is to tell the true story of how cocaine became such a huge problem in the U.S. and Europe – and how it all started here in Medellin," Padilha said in a statement in April, when Netflix first announced Narcos.
Maybe this time Pascal will be more careful about trying to get his confession.
