Netflix Resurrects 'The Killing' for Short Final Season

The Killing is coming back for its fourth and final season.

Netflix purchased a series-ending six episodes from Fox Television Studios that will be available to the website's streaming members.

A Netflix executive said the series was a great fit because The Killing utilizes serialized storytelling, which has done well on Netflix. The show depicts murder investigations led by two detectives played by Mireille Enos and Joel Kinnaman. The first two seasons followed one case, the murder of a teenage girl, and season three led the detectives on the trail of a runaway.

The original episodes are now available for streaming, so new viewers can get caught up before the last episodes go live (no word from Netflix yet on when that will be).
