Last.fm looks to be going after an integrated approach to global expansion. A partnership with European social network Netlog will allow Last.fm to place widgets on their profile pages for direct access to their Last.fm accounts. Last.fm radio users will also be able to stream tracks through this widget (though a Netlog user doesn't have to be a registered member of Last.fm in order to use the Last.fm Radio).

While this partnership looks to be similar to an integrated application offering, there doesn't appear to be any deep integration for accessing other users' information and comparing Last.fm preferences accordingly. Netlog was among the first to announce plans for participation in Open Social, though the company also felt that building out its own platform in addition to participating in Open Social would be worthwhile.
