NetShops, a developer and operator of niche e-commerce sites, has just appointed Carter Cast, former President and CEO of Walmart.com, as its new CEO. Cast also was involved with the startup Blue Nile, and will be bringing all of this online retail experience to his new gig at NetShops.
Obviously NetShops is looking to grow its online marketing and reach, as its own website serves as an aggregated landing page for the niche online stores it supports. With e-commerce becoming more involved with online social networks, perhaps this is a direction that Cast will take for NetShops.
