Netvibes, one of the most popular personalized portals around (with strong competition from Pageflakes, iGoogle and others), has decided to expand one of their latest products, Netvibes Universe, enabling companies to use their technology to create a Netvibes Premium Universe and integrate it with their own website.
Netvibes personalized portal is a place where you can organize content from the web as you like; Netvibes Universe is in a way its opposite: it's a a branded, customizable site tailored to your needs, but it's open for everyone to use. For an example, try out Mashable Netvibes universe here.
However, while regular universes are still hosted with Netvibes, Netvibes Premium Universe gives companies a chance to completely integrate Netvibes widgety goodness into their own page, and brand it as they like. This is a logical step to take; most of the really big internet portals - Google, Yahoo, Netscape - already have their own version of a personalized portal, and there are probably thousands of smaller sites which might want to have this functionality, too. However, not everyone has the time or the resources to create such an application from scratch, and this is where Netvibes Premium Universe comes up.
