We previously noted that 60 million Facebook users hadn’t even tried the new site, and the reactions of those people are presenting themselves all over the social network this week in the form of status updates (“so and so HATES THE NEW FACEBOOK!!!”) and petition groups.
So is peaceful protest the way to get the new Facebook back? It’s highly unlikely, but in any event, here are 10 of the biggest groups you can join to voice your displeasure with the change:
Please Keep the Old Facebook. The New Version is a Disaster – 355,000+ members
I Prefer the Old Facebook – 246,000+ members
1,000,000+ to bring back the old facebook – 264,000+ members
5,000,000 people who want the option “Back to the old Facebook” to remain! – 597,000+ members
Petition Against the New Facebook – 1,347,000+ members
I Hate the New Facebook – 1,218,000+ members
1,000,000 Against the New Facebook Layout – 1,950,000+ members
People Against the New Facebook System – 254,000+ members
5,000,000 Against the New Version of Facebook – 762,000+ members
Petition Online – 160,000+ digital signatures
Meanwhile, Aniq Rahman shared with us a way that you can still get to the old Facebook if the option has been removed from your account. First, add the Facebook developer application (go here), and then just go to this URL. Facebook will likely close this loophole soon, but if you’ve been shocked into the new look, at least you’ll be able to switch back to the old one temporarily.
