Another day, another iPhone rumor. This time, the folks at 9to5Mac have heard that Apple is testing several screen sizes for the new iPhone, with the most likely candidate being a 3.95-incher with a 640 x 1136 pixel resolution.
This falls in line with other recent iPhone rumors, all of which claim that the new iPhone will have a larger screen, though most of them say the screen will be 4 inches in size or larger.
The iPhone which is most likely to actually hit the market has the same screen width as the iPhone 4/4S -- 1.94 inches. However, it will be significantly taller at 3.45 inches. Since these dimensions theoretically fit into the iPhone 4/4S case, it's possible that the next-gen iPhone will stay the same size as its older sibling.
To take advantage of the new iPhone screen size, Apple is reportedly working on an iOS 6 build which adds a fifth row of icons to the home screen.
Finally, 9to5Mac's sources claim that the iPhone prototypes currently in testing all have a home button (refuting rumors that the button will be removed from the device) and a smaller dock connector.
