The couch is comfortable. You're way too aware of your headache. You've already binged Jessica Jones and figuring out what to watch on Netflix is really hard right now. Thankfully, TV programming actually has you covered.
If you're too mind-wiped to even care about commercial breaks, there are some surprisingly solid TV marathons happening. Break out the PJ pants and warm blankets, and get cozy. (Though if you do want a streaming guide for what's new in January, we've got that too.)
Portlandia on IFC
Carrie Brownstein and Fred Armisen's quirky view of Portland (and satirical mirror of hipster culture) is running all day on IFC. The show that "put a bird on it" is gearing up for its sixth season, which starts Jan. 21.
The Simpsons on FXX
FXX has been very generous with The Simpsons ever since its ambitious "Every Simpsons Ever" marathon in 2014. But a day watching Homer's antics is a good cure for what ails ya. The episodes tend to range later in The Simpsons' catalog, which is good to note if you only want the classic episodes.
MythBusters on Discovery Science Channel
If you are sad to see the era of Adam and Jamie coming to an end, or you just want to watch a lot of explosions, this marathon is for you. MythBusters' 14th and final season is airing this January, so it's pretty likely we'll see many more tribute marathons as it winds down.
Say Yes to the Dress: Atlanta on TLC
Just got engaged? Congratulations. You might enjoy an intro into the wedding industrial complex as you watch women spend 5 figures (and sometimes more!) on the dresses of their dreams.
The Twilight Zone on SyFy
This marathon may be a New Year's (and Fourth of July) staple by now, but the eerie relic of old TV is quite a comfort on this day of reflection. Even if you've never seen the show, you've definitely seen its references in pop culture. Tune in, or be sent to the cornfield.
Law and Order: Special Victims Unit on USA
Marathons of SVU may be no more rare than days that end in y, but it doesn't mean we don't want to watch them anyway. Try to see how many actors you can spot before they made it big.
Sex and the City on Oxygen
