After realizing Cutler had been hurt, Suh simmered down and they slapped hands as the shaken quarterback trudged off the field. But that wasn't enough for Bears receiver Brandon Marshall, who took to Twitter after the game to chastise Suh for his savage hit and subsequent celebration.
Marshall slammed the slam in one tweet, then treated Suh to a mini-lecture about class and character in another:
A Suh. What u did to Jay wasn't cool. Great players don't have to do that.— Brandon Marshall (@BMarshall) October 23, 2012
A Suh. Something I've learned and now passing down to you. Succeed with character— Brandon Marshall (@BMarshall) October 23, 2012
Suh hadn't responded to Marshall's tweets as of Tuesday evening, but last season did use social media to address another violent on-field incident. In November, he used his Facebook page to issue a public apology a few days after being ejected from a game for stomping on an opponent.
