From Mick Jagger to Kim Jong-un, famous faces will soon appear on floats along the Promenade des Anglais in Nice, France.

Much work goes in to creating and perfecting these massive faces and figures, as preparation for the 131st Nice Carnival parade gets underway. The event will start on Feb. 13, and last until March 1.

Carnival is one of the world's oldest and largest celebrations of its kind. Each year, 18 giant floats are designed according to the theme -- this year's being the "King of Music" -- and are presented in a parade along the French Riviera. Musical groups, local theater performers and others will march alongside the floats, celebrating with millions of spectators from around the world.
