English comedian Nick Frost is going to spend some time with the Doctor this Christmas.

BBC America announced on Friday that Frost -- along with Misfits alum Nathan McMullen and Michael Troughton, son of second Doctor Patrick Troughton -- will appear in this year's Doctor Who Christmas Special.

“Frost at Christmas -- it just makes sense!" Steven Moffat, the show's lead writer and executive producer, said in a statement. "I worked with Nick on the Tintin movie many years ago, and it's a real pleasure to lure him back to television for a ride on the TARDIS.”

Frost is, of course, the frequent collaborator of Simon Pegg, who appeared on Who in 2005 as the Editor. The pair is best known for co-starring in 2004 zombie comedy Shaun of the Dead.
