Nicki Minaj is adding TV producer to her long list of skills.
ABC Family has just picked up a new scripted comedy from the rapper, which she is set to produce and appear in.

The single-camera comedy will be based on Minaj's own life story -- particularly her family's immigration from Trinidad in the early 90s and "the personal and musical evolution that led to her eventual rise to stardom," the network said. It will be filmed and set in Queens.
“This is one of the more unique adventures I've ever embarked on,” said Minaj in a statement released via the network. "I couldn't be more proud and excited to team up with an amazing group of people to give the world something really special.”

This marks Minaj's return to TV since her -- somewhat disastrous -- one-season stint as a judge on American Idol.
The show also means ABC Family is now home to two musical superstar producers: Current Idol judge Jennifer Lopez also produces the drama The Fosters, which is in its third season.
