Nicki Minaj and Taylor Swift are totally cool, y'all. After the tweetstorm that shook the pop music world, Minaj said she and Swift laughed on the phone together.

Still, she stands by the point she made in her initial tweets -- the music world needs to honor a diverse group of performers. She told Good Morning America "there's some funny business" when a video that is objectively a hit and cultural phenomenon is snubbed a Video of the Year nomination at the VMAs.

And there's a reason why you should care about Minaj getting the recognition she deserves. "We have to have both kinds of girls," she said on Good Morning America. "We can't have only one type of body being glorified in the media, because it just makes girls even more insecure than we already are."
