LOS ANGELES -- Nicki Minaj is publicly mourning the death of her tour manager De'Von Pickett, who was fatally stabbed early Wednesday morning in Philadelphia.
Philadelphia police officer Tanya Little confirmed to Mashable that two people were stabbed outside Che Bar and Grill at 2:35 a.m., local time. A 29-year-old victim, which Minaj said is Pickett, died after being stabbed multiple times in the torso. A 26-year-old, which Minaj said is fellow tour employee Eric Parker, was also stabbed in the altercation.
The surviving victim was stabbed in the left arm and left side; he is in critical condition at Albert Einstein Medical Center. The police department has issued a "$20,000 reward for the arrest and conviction" of any suspects, Little said.
"Another senseless act of violence that took the life of a great guy. So sad," Minaj wrote in an Instagram caption on a photo of both men (see below).
Minaj, 32, expressed her condolences to her 18 million Twitter followers:
Two members of my team were stabbed last night in Philly. One was killed. They had only been there for two days rehearsing for the tour.— NICKI MINAJ (@NICKIMINAJ) February 18, 2015
