There are a lot of athletic clothing brands on the market -- but many are not as functional as they are fashionable.
Nike launched its first line of basketball apparel for female athletes on Monday. The brand says it was in response to a lack of support for women's professional sports, specifically basketball.
More, the line was designed by a team of women.

The four pieces include a stretch mesh hoodie, tapered pants, a stretchy tank and a pair of lightweight shorts. The design and fabrics are meant to be comfortable while allowing mobility.
Nike enlisted the help of University of Connecticut women's basketball team and WNBA players Elena Delle Donne, Skylar Diggins, Chiney Ogwumike and Sue Bird for the Elite Basketball performance collection, which was unveiled Tuesday.
"This is giving us what we want and need," said Skylar Diggins said in a release. "I have been waiting for this forever."
"We did a lot of focus groups with both high school and professional basketball players from across the country to make sure we were creating the right styles and incorporating the wants and needs for the female athlete," Chris Burke, Nike global apparel director, said.
The collection, which ranges in price from $35 to $80, is now available at Nike.com and at select retailers.
