It seems Nintendo's toys aren't sticking solely to their own game worlds.

Two beloved Nintendo characters and new matching vehicles will be coming to Skylanders: SuperChargers when the game is released on Sept. 20.

Fans will be able to use the characters and their vehicles -- Turbo Charge Donkey Kong and his battle blaster, along with Hammer Slam Bowser and the clown cruiser -- just like the other Skylanders characters, but the new additions will have unique moves and upgrade trees.

Vicarious Visions CEO Karthik Bala joined Nintendo of America President and COO Reggie Fils-Amie during Nintendo's E3 announcement on Tuesday to share the news with fans. Fils-Amie teasingly asked Bala if working with Nintendo was difficult.

"We were very cautious at first, but then we came up with unique ideas and were able to get away with a lot of stuff," Bala said.

The Skylanders figures will also work as regular Amiibo in other Nintendo titles by twisting their bases to expose a different NFC chip.
