One week after wandering away from his grandmother near the woods in western Tennessee, 2-year-old Noah Chamberlin was found dead by searchers Thursday afternoon, authorities confirmed.

The toddler was discovered by a search group about a mile and a half from his grandparents' home, Chester County Sheriff Blair Weaver announced during an emotional press conference. Noah was found in an area on the outskirts of the more than 1,000 acres of woods that had been scoured by more than a thousand people--including law enforcement and volunteers-- over the week since his disappearance.

Noah was reported missing on the afternoon of Thursday, Jan. 14 after wandering away from his grandmother, who had been babysitting the 2-year-old and his 4-year-old sister.

Within hours of his disappearance, the community of Pinson, as well as volunteers from surrounding counties and states, joined in the search efforts, assembling at a local school and church to comb through hundreds of acres of woods on foot, horseback and ATVs.

Low nighttime temperatures, rain and rough terrain made finding the toddler quickly imperative. On certain days only law enforcement officials were permitted to search the woods due to rough weather. The search efforts were also aided by canine units, National Guard helicopters, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and the FBI.

Local law enforcement officials maintain there is no suspicion of foul play in Noah's disappearance.
