Report: Nokia's Illusionist Tablet Disappears

Rumors have swirled that Nokia is working on a smaller version of its 10.1-inch Lumia 2520 tablet, but the company may have cancelled its release.

According to My Nokia Blog, Nokia is pulling the plug on the 8.3-inch tablet, which is code-named "Illusionist" and also known as the Lumia 2020. The blog cited sources related to the matter. The device was scheduled to launch in early 2014.

The reasons for cancellation are unknown, but it according to reports, the device underwent product testing in India as recently as last month.

Nokia has not responded to Mashable's request for comment.

The 8.3-inch tablet was rumored to resemble the 10.1-inch model with a Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor and a full HD display. The move would be Nokia's first foray into the smaller-sized tablet market. In October, Nokia launched its first tablet and was among the few to run Windows RT 8.1. Without a contract, the device costs $499.
