Nokia Siemens Networks expects that this acquisition will strengthen its ties with a number of telecom operators, as well as make it the third largest wireless infrastructure vendor in the U.S., the biggest foreign wireless vendor in Japan and strengthen its current number two position in the global infrastructure segment.

Under the terms of the contract, approximately 7,500 employees will transfer to Nokia Siemens Networks from Motorola’s wireless network infrastructure business when the transaction closes. The contract is expected to be completed by the end of 2010, and will therefore not influence Nokia Siemens's financials in 2010.
