Yahoo Mail IM - Yahoo is starting to offer Yahoo Messenger inside Yahoo Mail. The service will be rolled out over the next few months, and brings Yahoo up to speed with Google, which has offered IM within GMail for some time. (via)

Nokia-YouTube - Nokia's latest handsets will support the viewing of YouTube clips via a web browser, the company said today. Clips would be viewed on the soon-to-launch YouTube Mobile site. (via)

Yahoo Photos Closing - Valleywag reports that Yahoo Photos "may" be merging with Flickr. It's based totally on a hunch, and it's just a rumor right now. (via)

Widget Disruption - Two pieces of news make me think that the widget world is headed for major disruption in the coming weeks. First up, Netvibes plans to catch up with Pageflakes and YourMinis by making its widgets available to post on MySpace, hi5, Piczo, blogs and other sites. Netvibes is also set to launch a Universal Widget API, allowing widgets to share data back and forth and synchronize among themselves. Look out for the hotly-anticipated Netvibes social network to launch in April.

The second piece of news almost fell under the radar. Netvibes rival Webwag has quietly enabled a feature that lets users post widgets from Netvibes and Google IG to a Webwag page. They want to keep it quiet until the feature is officially ready, but I love the idea. Once all the startpages support the same widgets, how do you choose between them?

Smilebox - Redmond startup Smilebox is launching a service today that lets people record video messages and email them to friends in a similar fashion to Eyejot. Smilebox has raised $6 million in funding, but it has one flaw: it requires a download. As a result, we won't be testing it, and we don't think it can win against its web-based rivals. (via)
