SAN DEIGO -- It turns out that Norman Reedus is more badass than anyone knew.

In fact, he's a real-life hero.

Sitting on TV Guide's Fan Favorites panel Saturday afternoon, The Walking Dead star explained that filming the show is more grueling than some may know and that sometimes the process results in cast members being carted to the hospital.

One time, he said, a severe cut on his hand led to one such visit to the hospital, but his ride back to his house took a turn when he and his driver spotted an overturned 18-wheeler on the side of the road. A woman said the driver had suffered a heart attack.

As help hadn't yet arrived on scene, Reedus -- injured hand and all -- helped remove the man from the vehicle. Once the paramedics arrived, his good deed did not go unnoticed by the paramedic, who had just escorted him from set.

"He said, 'Didn't we just take you to the hospital?' And I was like, 'Yes, but [the driver of the 18-wheeler] is actually your guy [now]," Reedus said. "It was the weirdest day ever."

Weird and impressive.

Reedus was joined on stage by Maisie Williams from Game of Thrones, Wendi McLendon-Covey of The Goldbergs, Eliza Taylor of The 100, David Anders from iZombie, Yvette Nicole Brown of Community and Ming-Na Wen of Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
