NPR Latest to Add Branded Splashcast Player as Facebook Apps

Last week we covered the Splashcast announcement regarding its new branded white label service for Facebook applications, offering companies a way to publish media channels throughout the social network. Read our coverage of the Splashcast white label solution here.

While a good amount of companies announced their branded Splashcast Facebook players along with this launch, NPR's the latest to sign on for the service. The NPR Podcast Player will offer some of its most popular content, granting users with automatically updated content through the channel. Anxious to stay at the forefront of technology, and already having had an incredibly prominent podcasting reputation, NPR will do well to further reach out to the Facebook demographic.

Splashcast's customized Facebook application option will be appealing to many in the media industry, taking a lot of the legwork out of having a media-centric application created, and leveraging Splashcast's existing user base in conjunction with Facebook's own network. FBfactory is another company looking to capitalize on the popularity of Facebook applications.
