25 Patriotic Moments From NYC's Veteran's Day Parade

Men and women of the United States armed services were honored Monday in New York City's annual Veteran's Day parade.

Almost 20,000 people from more than 200 organizations, according to the New York Daily News, marched down Manhattan's Fifth Avenue to celebrate their service to the country.

While the parade honors all veterans, this year's event paid special tribute to the female members of the military. Retired Army Gen. Ann Dunwoody, the first female four-star general, served as the parade's grand marshal.

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo and Mayor-elect Bill de Blasio attended, as well as several proud, flag-waving patriots and even a few puppies in military garb.

Check out some of the parade's best moments in the gallery above.
