iPad Has Starring Role in Obama's Latest Anti-Romney Ad

Apple's iPad is a key component of the Obama campaign's YouTube ad responding to the leaked Mitt Romney video that's spread like wildfire.

The Obama video team hit the streets Tuesday morning with recording equipment and an iPad, which they used to show the Romney video to bystanders. Their responses were captured on film and used in the above ad, titled "47 Percent."

This rapid response ad shows the kind of campaign videos possible with today's technology -- without an iPad (or equivalent tablet or other mobile device), getting instant reactions from passersby wouldn't be possible.

The leaked video featured in the ad shows Romney's off-the-cuff remarks during a private fundraiser for wealthy donors. It was posted Monday afternoon by Mother Jones, which acquired it from a still-unknown source. Mother Jones has since posted additional clips, while the first clip has 1.6 million views as of Tuesday afternoon.
