Just call him the Commander-in-Puns.

President Barack Obama welcomed the New England Patriots on the South Lawn of the White House on Thursday, April 23, to celebrate the team's victory at the 2015 Super Bowl. Of course, this was the perfect opportunity for him to sneak in an expertly crafted DeflateGate joke.

"I usually tell a bunch of jokes at these events, but with the Patriots in town, I was worried that 11 out of 12 of them would fall flat," the president said. Cue the sound of a million children's frustrated groans.

Unfortunately, his groan-worthy jokes was not met with high fives. The audience, including the Patriots, uncomfortably laughed a little bit until the president moved on. Some people's humor is just too good for other's to appreciate it seems.

The president added, "that whole story got blown a little out of proportion." He was clearly on a roll, whether anybody liked it or not.

When you have a good dad joke, you have to share it with the world.
