President Barack Obama unexpectedly sang 'Amazing Grace' at Rev. Clementa Pinckney's funeral, but that stirring rendition wasn't the only inspiring moment during his roughly 37-minute eulogy.

Pinckney, who was also a state senator, was killed with eight others at the Emanuel AME Church in Charleston, South Carolina, on June 17 by a 21-year-old shooter. Dylann Roof has been arrested in connection with the crime and remains behind bars.

Obama's impassioned speech touched on Pinckney's strong character, the Confederate flag, gun violence, racial bias and a nation that was appalled at the alleged killer's violent act of hatred.

"Blinded by hatred, the alleged killer could not see the grace surrounding Rev. Pinckney and that bible study group. The light of love that shown as they opened the church doors and invited a stranger to join in their prayer circles," Obama said. "The alleged killer could have never anticipated the way the families of the fallen would respond when they saw him in court in the midst of unspeakable grief with words of forgiveness. He couldn't imagine that."
