Did the President strike a chord, though? In the past, only sophisticated polling companies could accomplish the task. Even these companies though had smaller sample sizes, were prone to inaccuracies, and would take days until the data was available.
But thanks to social media, Twitter and Crimson Hexagon, we can take the assessment of thousands of people and really figure out if the speech was a winner or if it was a dud.
The Tweets Were Divided
Crimson Hexagon analyzed a sample of 9300+ tweets on Twitter immediately after President Obama delivered his address. The company has broken the chatter down into 9 categories, from "Great Speech!" to "Devil's in the Details":
