The site gives you an easy-to-use interface where you can input your signature information and create a signature widget that can be automatically installed into your email or webmail client.

On a common-sense note: a bad time to install a political banner in your email signature might be when you’re applying to jobs, apartments, conducting email conversations with your girlfriend’s political activist father, etc.

To get your free Obama or McCain email signature, go to the website and choose your political candidate. The site offers 11 banners for McCain and 12 for Obama.

From there, you can use the Web app to add your name, address, Web address, and the rest of your contact info. When you’re done, you have the option to export the signature into your email or webmail client.

The site uses the email charity Java Installer that can run on either Windows or MacOSX (not Linux) to install the signature automatically into your email client. When I tried to install it, it detected Apple Mail as my default email client and was installed in less than 10 seconds.

Other supported clients are Microsoft Outlook and Thunderbird. Gmail, Yahoo! Mail, Hotmail and GMX are supported webmail clients. If are using a different client, they offer code to embed into your signature template. Easy.
