While some actions are obviously a bad idea while traveling abroad (no one would be surprised that Germany does not welcome the Nazi salute), others are less obvious -- yet equally important -- when it comes to respecting another culture

FlyDubai compiled the following list of 40 things that tourists should avoid to make a good impression around the world. The United Arab Emirates has repeatedly tried to inform tourists about acceptable behavior, but as evident from recent shenanigans in Malaysia, tourists will be tourists.

While some behavior is merely considered rude (e.g. hugging in Japan), other actions are illegal in certain countries (e.g. speaking negatively of the king in Thailand).
