Now that The O.C. audience has grown from television-obsessed teens into Netflix bing-watching professionals, a musical reboot was almost inevitable.

The show, which was created by Josh Schwartz and ran from 2003 to its finale in 2007, was about a group of wealthy teens growing up in Orange County, California, and will be turned into a single performance musical on August 30 in Los Angeles.

The event will be directed by Jordan Ross and produced by Lindsey Rosin, according to Variety, the same duo who recently put on Cruel Intentions:The Musical.

I wrote an essay in high school about why I wanted to be @JoshSchwartz76 when I grew up. Now, I'm adapting/directing @OCMusical. #dreams— Jordan Ross (@__JordanRoss) June 24, 2015

Although the show wasn't a musical, the soundtrack element was important and it was critical in launching indie music into the mainstream, helping bands like Death Cab for Cutie, Rooney and Phantom Planet.

The musical's Twitter account has been giving fans clues as to who will be involved as well as fielding music requests.

I have an answer to ONE big question we've been getting -- YES. Seth Cohen will sing a Death Cab for Cutie song!— The O.C. Musical (@OCMusical) June 27, 2015
