Floyd Hartwig, 90, of Easton, California, died on Feb. 11 after a long battle with cancer.
Five hours later, his wife of 67 years, Violet, passed away as well. She was 89.
The couple's daughter, Donna Scharton, described her parents as “easygoing but stubborn” to The Fresno Bee. She described their devotion to one another, from Floyd's time in the U.S. Navy to the couple's battles with illness.
