All wildly popular erotic fanfiction must be rewritten from the brooding hero's perspective. That is the new world order.
First, E.L. James rewrote Fifty Shades of Grey from Christian Grey's perspective for her newest novel, Grey. Now the One Direction fanfic-turned-novel-turned-screenplay will be rewritten from fake Harry Styles' point of view.

Anna Todd's sexy novel, After, follows good girl Tessa as she leaves for college and falls for a rebel with tattoos and wild hair. In the original fic, the character was Harry Styles; in the edited version, he's renamed Hardin. Entertainment Weekly reports that her new book, cleverly titled Before, will be a reworking of the same story told from Hardin's perspective.
The series began as a story on fanfiction platform Wattpad. Millions of views later, Todd inked a three book deal by Simon and Schuster. Now Paramount is also planning to turn After into a feature film that probably (definitely) won't get rights to One Direction's song catalog.
Clearly, this series is an endless fountain of material. For her next book, Todd should tackle During -- Hessa's story told from the perspective of a golden retriever who goes to college with them for some reason and just wants to get in the middle of a cuddle pile. Just think of the horrifying merchandising opportunities.
