Online classifieds service Oodle has named Kevin Doerr its new senior vice president, to lead the company's partner network and grow advertising revenue all the same. A Microsoft veteran, Doerr worked in Microsoft's Premium Mobile Services group, Windows Live Web Communications group, the Technology Care and Safety Group and the Information Services Group.

That's a lot of hats for one company, but Doerr also has a good amount of previous experience in the publishing realm as well, having worked at Ziff-Davis, IDG and Scholastic. While Oodle is free for posting a listing, the local advertising sector is a primary focus for Oodle. This, along with the increased media partnerships Oodle has as a provider of classifieds for third party sites and networks, is what Doerr will be in charge of as Oodle's newest member of the executive team.

What Doerr is Getting Himself Into--Better Monetizing Consumer-Driven Markets

Oodle has done a pretty good job of keeping a balance between forward-moving features that users can leverage for research discovery purposes and ease of use as an online tool. Perhaps this has even paved the way for more recent services like Wigix to enter the market with new concepts regarding the consumer-driven trade market. The space is continually evolving as technologies and attitudes improve.
