Microsoft suffered a setback today in attempts to get its Office Open XML file format accepted as an international standard for office documents by the International Organization for Standardization.

When attempting to get anything adopted by the ISO, the proposal must go through two voting tests. According to Microsoft's own information, they failed on both counts.
