Take me out to the ball game, take me out with the crowd... or not.

For the first time in MLB history, a baseball game is being played with absolutely no fans in attendance. The Baltimore Orioles-Chicago White Sox game at Camden Yards on Wednesday was closed to the public due to safety concerns after riots engulfed the city of Baltimore following Freddie Gray's funeral.

While the game is being touted as "historic," most Twitter users found it simply bizarre, noting Camden Yards was so ghostly silent that viewers could hear bats striking the ball and the pings of text messages being received.

But it seems the game was a blessing in disguise for the Orioles, who were up 6-0 in just the first inning. Fans, feel free not to show up again next week.
