oTxt, which just went live, is an extremely simple widget for MySpace, blogs and social networks that allows your visitors to send a text message straight from the page to your phone, without giving away your cellphone number. Whether that results in spam remains to be seen - perhaps they'll need to add a special code word for your friends if that becomes a problem. You can currently limit the number of messages you receive per day, which would prevent it from becoming annoying. More oWidgets tools are in the works - oMail, for sending email to the page owner, oIM, a service like MeeboMe that shows your IM presence and lets you receive IM messages from your page on any desktop IM client, and oVideo, a service that lets your visitors record a video message and send it to you.

On its own, the oTxt widget isn't very interesting - but what's compelling about this story is that these tools have been developed by Orgoo, a stealthy service that just put up a preview page. They describe it as: "all your email accounts, IM accounts, social networking accounts, chat, video, news, and more organized and integrated in one interface." I've seen behind the curtain, and I'd call it "Meebo meets Netvibes meets social networking on steroids" - it's much, much cooler than the holding page suggests. One to watch.
