LONDON -- Tuesday, Feb. 9, is Shrove Tuesday, and that can only mean one thing: it's time to stuff ourselves silly with gratuitous quantities of chocolate- and syrup-laced pancakes.

To get you in the mood for Pancake Day, we've scoured social media for the most stomach-rumblingly outrageous pictures we can find. Admittedly some of these would take ages to make, but hey -- it never hurts to have something to aim for.

Good morning, HAPPY PANCAKE DAY... you're welcome Okay, I may be biased, but these are seriously seriously the bees knees of pancakes and are perfect for all you chocolate lovers out there Ingredients: * 1 whole banana, mashed * 1/2 banana, chopped into slices * Two whole eggs * One tbsp @naturya organic chocolate powder * 1/2 tsp vanilla extract * 1/2 tsp cinnamon * 1 tbsp @pipandnut almond butter * 1 good squeeze of @chocshot * A small handful of toasted almonds, crushed * 30g @doisyanddam dark chocolate chopped into pieces * 1/2 tsp coconut oil Method: 1. mix your mashed banana, eggs, chocolate powder and vanilla extract until fully combined. 2. Cover your chopped banana slices with your cinnamon. Heat half of your coconut oil in a frying pan and place your banana slices to fry until golden and crispy - leave to stand. 3. Heat the rest of your coconut oil in a non stick frying pan and pour a small amount of your mixture. When the bottom of your pancake is well formed, flip and cook the other side, repeating for the rest of the mixture. 4. Top your pancakes with your choc shot, @pipandnut, dark chocolate pieces and crushed toasted almonds and devour!! Happy #PancakeDay! Try our recipe for Fluffy Spelt Pancakes!

Made using the Swift Flat Griddle Pan (Makes 8). INGREDIENTS

100g spelt flour

2 tsp baking powder Pinch salt

1 tsp caster sugar

1 egg

150ml nut milk

A little oil for greasing METHOD

Sift the flour into a mixing bowl and mix in the baking powder, salt and sugar. In another bowl, whisk together the egg and milk, then add to the flour and stir until you have a smooth batter. Leave to rest for 15 minutes.

Heat the griddle pan and lightly brush with oil. Add 4 tablespoons of the batter, leaving a space between each, and cook until firm. Turn over and cook for 2­3 minutes until golden. Repeat with the remaining batter until you have 8 pancakes.

Serve with eggs and bacon. Tips: These pancakes are best eaten freshly made. Fruits such as blueberries or raisins can be added to the batter to make a sweet version.
