Thomas Davis' team may not have won the big game, but he'll have one heck of a trophy scar to remember this season.

The Carolina Panthers linebacker broke his arm during the Jan. 24 NFC championship against the Arizona Cardinals and got surgery the next day, ending up with a metal plate and 12 screws. But with the help of a 3D-printed brace, Davis played in Sunday's Super Bowl against the Denver Broncos. He made several tackles, apparently unfazed by his fractured forearm.

Well after the game ended, Davis showed Instagram what he was playing with. It wasn't pretty -- and at first glance, may even appear like the side of a football.

This post is not about me, or how tough I am. It's not to shine any light on me or my injuries. Our team doctors and trainers did an amazing job giving me an opportunity to get back on the field. This post is strictly to show how much love I have for my brothers and #PantherNation. Thank you all for your support and we will #KeepPounding.-TD A photo posted by td58 (@td58) on Feb 7, 2016 at 9:43pm PST

There's always next season, right?
