So apparently, there are these little human beings called "kids". Lots of people have them, and those people like to team up from time to time and devise strategies for keeping them under control. As a result, we've seen dozens of parenting social networks appear on the scene: Minti, ParentsConnect, MothersClick, MomJunction, MommyBuzz and Maya's Mom to name a few. We also have organizational tools for busy families: sites like Famundo, for instance.

Parentography, which is accepting email addresses until it launches on January 23rd, falls somewhere in between: it's a social network that helps parents to organize family-friendly excusions. Founders (and parents) Tim and Noelle Ludwig have built the site over the past year with their own funding, after frustration trying to find kid-friendly places for a vacation. Parentography aims to solve those problems, providing profile pages, a network of friends and the ability to find and write reviews on kid-friendly services, restaurants, parks and playgrounds, lodgings, activities and major attractions. Look out for Yahoo Maps, too, plus tagging and a list of the Top 100 reviewers.

It's pretty good: simple, well put together and easy to navigate. Success depends on having a critical number of reviews, of course, so they'll need to work on that.
