Fabrice Dubois died last Friday after gunmen stormed a concert in Paris. On Tuesday, he received one of the most prestigious advertising awards in the industry.

The Epica Awards on Tuesday bestowed a gold medal for animation on the Renault advertisement produced by Publicis Conseil. Dubois had been the copywriter on the advertisement.

Dubois was one of three advertising industry veterans that died in the recent attacks in Paris that claimed a total of 129 lives and injured 352 others.

The people casting votes were not aware of the passing of Dubois, according to one of the judges.

Dubois had worked at Publicis Conseil for almost 13 years. The company mourned his passing in a Facebook post and later noted the award he had won.
