Some dads really know how to party.

Paul McCartney's stepson Arlen Shevell graduated from Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida, on May 9, and while McCartney was proudly watching Shevell accept his diploma from afar, he garnered some attention of his own.

A Rollins student managed to snap a picture of McCartney waiting for the ceremony to start.

After the commencement ceremony, McCartney attended a private graduation party for Shevell at the Interlachen Country Club. The band hired to play there, Josh Walther and The Phase5 Band were thrilled to have him join them on stage for a few songs.

Because when a former Beatle wants to jam with you, the only answer is yes.

The video above is their raucous version of The Beatles' "I Saw Her Standing There." The band also posted a picture of McCartney's impromptu performance on their Instagram page.

McCartney also sang a bluesy tribute song for Shevell entitled "Graduation Song"; Phase5 posted a recording of the song on SoundCloud.
