Paul McCartney Teases First Solo Album in 6 Years

Sir Paul McCartney has released "New," the title track from his upcoming solo album, the first with new material since 2007's Memory Almost Full.

The 71-year-old also made the 12-song album, New, available for pre-order on iTunes. The full album will arrive Oct. 14 in the United Kingdom and Oct. 15 in the United States.

Fellow Englishman Mark Ronson produced "New." Listen to the song below:

"We can do what we want, we can live as we choose," McCartney wrote in a statement accompanying the song on YouTube.

McCartney's career began in the late 1950s before exploding into fame with the Beatles in the '60s. New is his 16th solo studio album.
