LONDON -- A tree surgeon in the UK has unveiled a labour of love three years in the making: A giant 18 foot penis hedge at the bottom of his garden.

Chris Bishop, who's single and lives in Bromsgrove in Worcestershire, told the Mirror he's spent several years pruning and shaping the creation in an effort to make passersby laugh. He plans to keep working on the 25-year-old cypress tree and eventually add a set of testicles.

He's not had much feedback so far. "No-one's commented when I've been out in the garden, people have just looked at it and walked past," he said. "I think it's because they're trying to work out whether it's just their dirty minds."

An anonymous neighbour, though, told the paper they found it "very offensive."

"Remarks are always made by people coming past," the person said. "People in the street are pretty upset about it, but our neighbours who told the council said nothing had been done. It's a massive eye-sore."

Back in November, a photo of the tree surfaced on Reddit, with several reports mistakenly stating that it had been done by a vengeful gardener.

It was created on purpose, but Bishop is happy to cut it down if he hears complaints. "If it caused any offence I would chop the head off," he said. "I don't want to offend anyone, I just want to make them smile."
