People Meet Their Fatter Selves for Weight Loss Campaign

Just when you think the weight-loss industry has run out of ideas, here's an inspired ad campaign from Medifast that features people interviewing their fatter selves through the magic of video.

The ads use video shot in January 2012 and later on in the year when the participants had reached their weight-loss goals. For instance, the video above features Kimberley Vandlen, who lost more than 30 lbs. Vandlen has a tearful conversation with herself before and after that's both poignant and kind of weirdly reminiscent of Jeremiah McDonald, the guy who interviewed his 12-year-old self this summer.

As the making-of video below demonstrates, Vandlen's weight loss didn't happen overnight and it involved changes in habits and abnegation rather than a quick fix.
