A new update to live video streaming app Periscope makes it possible to jump in and out of live streams across the globe.

If you want to watch people hang out by the Eiffel Tower or look at lunch get made in São Paulo, you can now browse the map for these locations and pop into people's streams.

The app is now at version 1.1 and has support for 29 languages. The update also lets you replay streams instantly, without having to wait for the video to upload. Another new feature lets you tweet a link to streams you're watching.

It's a major update for Periscope, but the app is still pretty bare. You can search for people to follow, but you can't search for streams by hashtag, for example.

Twitter released Periscope in March, thought it just debuted for Android. It was launched just as competing live-stream app Meerkat was picking up steam. Meerkat was hyped to be the next breakout app until Periscope launched and took off quickly.
