The word "duckface" just got a whole new meaning.
While snapping a shot of your own face is still wildly popular on social media, people just can't compete with their furry friends when it comes to selfies. Dogs, cats and even guinea pigs are getting a taste of Internet fame through some self-indulgent photo session -- and they like it.

But these "pelfies" aren't just for shameless self promotion. Online retailer BuyAGift wants to turn the Internet fad into a charitable cause with their online sweepstakes, "Next Pet Model". The contest will benefit two UK based animal charities -- Angels Animal Rescue and Wood Green, The Animals Charity.
Pet owners everywhere are encouraged to snap "selfies" of their adorable companions for entry into the contest until July 3. Interested participants can send in their entries here.
Whether it's for charity or Internet fame, these pouty pets are definitely giving Miley Cyrus and Kim Kardashian a run for their money.
